About Starlings Volleyball Clubs

The first Starlings club was founded in San Diego, California in 1996 by former USA Men’s Volleyball Team member Byron Shewman and Olympian Kim Oden. Byron sought to establish a volleyball/academic program that would serve girls from lower socioeconomic groups. Currently, Starlings is the largest junior volleyball club in the nation with clubs in over 50 cities and Native American reservations throughout the United States.
