The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Selects Molten USA as Official Basketball

Reno, NV – Molten USA, Inc is pleased to announce that the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) has selected Molten as their official basketball. The new partnership will begin immediately and will continue through the end of 2018.

Molten offers a variety of elite and competition level basketballs and sports equipment that will be available to the NWBA and the NWBA membership. Featured products include Molten’s new X-Series basketball which is the official basketball of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), and will be the official ball in all upcoming FIBA sanctioned competition. Molten’s X-Series integrates tradition with innovation, delivering maximum grip and increased visibility.

“We are excited to partner with Molten USA in the use of Molten Basketballs throughout the NWBA. The popular Molten X-Series will be featured at the NWBA National Tournament as well as other NWBA conducted events,” said Jim Scherr, NWBA Interim Executive Director. “The relationship will increase the NWBA’s reach and awareness of wheelchair basketball to a larger audience of sport enthusiasts, and allow our membership to benefit from unique discount programs.”

In addition to Molten providing support for the National Teams and the NWBA membership, the partnership will also include collaboration on a variety of grassroots and social media initiatives.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is the recognized National Organization for Wheelchair Basketball by the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation and the Paralympic Sport Organization by the United States Olympic Committee. The NWBA trains and selects teams for participation in the Paralympic Games, World Championships, and other international competitions. The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is comprised of over 200 wheelchair basketball teams across 22 conferences and seven divisions. The NWBA was founded in 1948, and today consists of seven divisions including: Championship Division, Division III, Women's Division, Intercollegiate Men's Division and Intercollegiate Women's Division, as well a Junior 10' and Junior Prep Divisions.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association hosts the NWBA National Tournament each year where the top teams from each division come together to compete for their national title.
